What each preset changes

All six files are identical except for one input: InpRiskProfile, the automatic risk profile that sets lot size relative to your balance and account type. Each preset simply selects one entry from the EA's Auto risk profile dropdown — Balanced is the Standard profile used in the published backtests, Conservative is Safe. Moving up a profile means larger positions — more profit per winning basket and deeper equity drawdown while a basket is open.

How to load a .set file in MetaTrader 5

  1. 1

    Download the preset

Save the .set file anywhere on the computer that runs MetaTrader 5. Optional: copy it into File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Presets so it is one click away.
  2. 2

Attach the EA to an XAUUSD chart

Drag Philippe Calibre 79 Gold from Navigator → Expert Advisors → Market onto a single XAUUSD chart. Any timeframe works.
  3. 3

    Load the preset

In the EA window open the Inputs tab, click Load, choose the .set file and confirm the values changed.
  4. 4

    Allow algo trading

On the Common tab tick Allow Algo Trading, press OK, and make sure the Algo Trading button in the toolbar is green.

The same Load button exists on the Inputs tab of the Strategy Tester, which is how you test a preset on the free demo before buying.

Which preset should you start with?

The developer's Capital Allocation and Risk Setup Guide describes the three live-monitored tiers:

  • Balanced Profile ($100 per 0.01 Lot, target drawdown <12%): Conservative capital preservation and steady compounding. Recommended accounts: Standard accounts with $1,000+ or Micro accounts with $100+.
  • Aggressive Profile ($50 per 0.01 Lot, target drawdown <20%): Active growth with moderate drawdown tolerance. Recommended accounts: Standard accounts with $500+ or Micro accounts with $50+.
  • High Risk Profile ($35 per 0.01 Lot, target drawdown <30%): High turnover on smaller capital bases. Recommended accounts: Micro accounts or dedicated high-risk capital.

Conservative, Defensive and Strict Defensive offer lower exposure. The risk profile guide compares the tiers with the live numbers.

Protections that ship switched off

None of the six presets enable the news filter or Account Equity Protection. If you want trading suspended before and after high-impact macro events, turn on Enable News Filter after loading a preset (it cannot act inside the Strategy Tester, where the economic calendar is unavailable). The files were saved before version 4.0 added the Flash-Crash Filter, Trailing Exit and Daily Equity Lock, so those run at the EA's default values unless you set them yourself.
