What is Philippe Calibre 79 Gold?

Philippe Calibre 79 is an automated Expert Advisor designed specifically for trading XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5. The system operates by analyzing momentum and statistical price action to execute trades. It utilizes a built-in basket closure mechanism to manage floating positions, avoiding the use of unmanaged lot multipliers. It is sold exclusively on the MQL5 Market.

Does Philippe Calibre 79 use martingale or grid?

It utilizes a built-in basket closure mechanism to manage floating positions, avoiding the use of unmanaged lot multipliers. Basket Management: Automatically pairs negative positions with larger positive positions to exit the market cycle at a designated target level. Maximum Open Legs: Limits the permitted number of concurrent positions per cycle. Every official preset sets it to 2, so the EA can hold more than one position per cycle, but never an unlimited number.

How much does Philippe Calibre 79 cost?

On MQL5 it currently costs $349 for a one-time purchase with 10 activations, or $99 to rent for one month. The price rises in tiers as copies sell, so the live price is always the one shown on the MQL5 product page.

Is there a free demo?

Yes. The MQL5 product page offers a free demo that runs in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, so you can backtest it on your own broker's XAUUSD data with any of the presets before paying.

How to backtest the free demo

What is the minimum deposit?

Minimum Capital: $500 for Standard Accounts (or equivalent in Cent/Micro accounts). The developer's Capital Allocation and Risk Setup Guide recommends, for the Balanced tier, standard accounts with $1,000+ or Micro accounts with $100+. The public live signals run $50–$100 balances on TitanFX.

Which broker and account type do I need?

Symbol: XAUUSD (Designed for 2-decimal pricing). Account Type: Hedging enabled. Netting accounts cannot hold the separate positions a basket needs. The developer's sizing guide is written around ECN and RAW-spread accounts.

Broker, account and VPS requirements

Do I need a VPS?

Yes. Execution: A low-latency VPS is required for stable operation. An Expert Advisor only trades while its MetaTrader 5 terminal is running and connected, so MQL5's built-in virtual hosting or a Windows VPS close to your broker's trade server both work.

Which chart and timeframe should I attach it to?

Attach it to a single XAUUSD chart. The preset files note that the chart timeframe doesn't matter — it is managed internally.

Which preset should I start with?

The developer's guide describes three live-monitored tiers. Balanced ($100 per 0.01 Lot, target drawdown <12%): Conservative capital preservation and steady compounding. Aggressive ($50 per 0.01 Lot, target <20%): Active growth with moderate drawdown tolerance. Extreme ($35 per 0.01 Lot, target <30%): High turnover on smaller capital bases. On the live signals, maximum equity drawdown so far is 10.13%, 19.40% and 27.00% respectively. Conservative, Defensive and Strict Defensive offer lower exposure.

Where can I verify the live results?

You can evaluate the trading logic through our live MetaTrader 5 signals. There are three: Balanced, Aggressive and Extreme. MQL5 records every trade from the trading server, so the figures cannot be edited by the seller. The accounts started on 9 August 2026 at 1:1000 leverage; because MQL5 does not allow new subscriptions to signals above 1:500, they are for monitoring rather than copy trading.

Does the news filter work in backtests?

News Integration: Connects to the MetaTrader 5 economic calendar to suspend trading before and after high-impact macro events. The MetaTrader 5 economic calendar is not available inside the Strategy Tester, so backtests run without news pauses. The six official presets ship with the news filter switched off; enable it with Enable News Filter if you want it.

Does it trade every day?

That is up to you. Authorize Execution (Mon-Sun): Individual toggles to permit or deny initial entries on specific days of the week. Enable Holiday Pause: Suspends trading during low-liquidity periods (December - January). Friday Force-Liquidate: Optionally closes all open positions at a specified hour on Friday. The official presets allow Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and have the holiday pause on.

Can I use Philippe Calibre 79 on a prop firm account?

The EA includes a Proprietary Account & Compliance Suite, which the developer's input manual describes as: Engineered for accounts operating under strict capital preservation rules and daily drawdown thresholds. Enable Virtualised Capital: Decouples the EA's lot calculator from raw broker balance, calculating all risk and basket metrics relative to an allocated loss buffer. Virtualisation Protocol: Dynamic: Scales your allowable buffer upward as profits accrue. Static Buffer: Enforces a fixed drawdown buffer regardless of account balance growth. Daily Profit Ceiling and Daily Drawdown Floor add an intraday circuit breaker. Prop firms set their own rules on Expert Advisors, so confirm yours allows automated trading and basket positions before running it on a funded account.

How many computers can I use it on?

A purchase includes 10 activations. An activation is used each time you install the EA on a new computer, and the licence stays tied to your MQL5 account.
